I still can't help but feel Christoph Waltz won the same award he did 3 years ago for essentially playing the same character. The only difference is, in "Basterds," the character was portrayed as a full-fledged villain, whereas in "Django" it was more of an antihero.

He also exploited one of the "loopholes" in the nomination process. His DJANGO character wasn't really a supporting character. Considering his screen time, he was more of a co-lead. The "true" supporting characters in DJANGO were the ones played by DiCaprio, Jackson, and Washington. Waltz and Foxx should have been considered leads. But the Academy doesn't have any standards to differentiate between leading and supporting performances, so Waltz was able to slide into this category.
