 Re: February 16, 2013: "Beat Berardinelli - 2013 Edition"
so JB is predicting the Best Picture winner to win only one other award. when's the last time that happened? the 30s?
I hope whoever wins, picks a movie for JB to review, so we all get something out of this. But with all those new users entered (how do they find out about this contest?) I'm not optimistic of this happening.

My official predictions call for it to win only one other award. However, the landscape has changed since I made those predictions. It's now also the favorite to win Best Adapted Screenplay. LINCOLN's across-the-board support has been eroding quickly, possibly as a result of it not being available yet on DVD. There's some studio bungling at work here. I'll probably write something about this Saturday after the ballot period closes.

I'm glad you replied because I skipped over the part that says the contest closes at noon on Saturday. Oops!

Brutally honest = childish and immature, at least certainly in this case.
Also unprofessional as well.

How exactly is it immature? And unprofessional?

Yeah I was kinda turned off by some of the things he said as well, not picking Lawrence just because he didn't like what she said on SNL seems awfully petty and childish to me(I don't see how it was "immature" anyways)

I think its hilarious there's an 'Oscar voting helpline.' and this was pretty funny: didn't think this will go over well here:

 Re: February 16, 2013: "Beat Berardinelli - 2013 Edition"
He kind of does hate human beings, though. That's not the best reason to dislike his films, of course. If you expect a Michael Haneke film to do all the work for you, then you're not going to enjoy yourself. A Haneke film is something that takes energy and perceptiveness to fully embrace and this guy clearly can't get over his pet peeve. Wahhhhhhhh.

Robert De Niro will win best supporting actor for that 'lets all stand and applause moment' before we have to for DDL. It'll be a shocking decision when compared to PS Hoffman's performance in The Master, but hey he's old, he was once a great, so let's all pay our bullshit academy respect.

 Re: February 16, 2013: "Beat Berardinelli - 2013 Edition"
This is the kind of thing that really irritates me (not you, Pedro). Not only does redsfan ignore the ballot prohibition in the first post of this topic but he posts his ballot *after* the balloting period has closed. It's not as if I didn't clearly announce the closing time. He's like my son - he doesn't listen then wonders why he doesn't get a treat. My son is not quite three years old.
