Bond came first and had his own identity that we all know from the 60s until die another day , then Bourne came with his own identity like the movie Bourne's identity and hit very strongly after the 9/11. Damon used to make fun of Bond and Bond producers instead of sticking to their guns , they hired Daniel Craig lol. A business decision many would call it. At the time might have made sense. Does it still make sense? Time will tell. I am personally getting tired but I have not seen Skyfall yet

Bourne is a rogue ex-CIA agent who defends himself from the bad guys behind the CIA by going after them after being provoked lol which also has good guys (or gals in this case). now, from Wikipedia

Bourne has his own identity and it is not copying bond in any way. But Bond has changed since Craig came aboard there in what I would call a "strong influence"

In the first third of skyfall apparently Bond is more Bourne but at the end is Bond again HaHa

I think that Bond should be Bond and let Bourne be Bourne (If Damon ever care to do the role again). In the 60s , tons of spy movies (and TV series) came with a strong influence of Connery's Bond ;-)

When I see Skyfall, I will assess it against the main Bond movie traits such as:

Opening scene
Villian
Bond Girls
Gadgets
plot
Music
Locations
and of course Bond himself ;-)

I will definitely write about it here
