October 3, 2010: "Life Is Not PG-13"

Post Re: October 3, 2010: "Life Is Not PG-13"
Lol....the MPAA isn't protecting anyone but themselves. It's up to the THEATERS to enforce the "no one under 17 without a parent" rule, and I hate to shatter your illusion, but it isn't heavily enforced. And where it is enforced, there are simple ways around it (such as purchasing a ticket for a G movie and then walking into the theater playing the desired R showing...) Ever hear of the phrase "the forbidden fruit taste much sweeter"? Putting an "R" label on something probably makes it more appealing to pre-teens and teens under 17...

EDIT: Also, I called them prudes because anything with NUDITY in it seems to get an automatic R, where very violent pictures can get a PG-13 if they don't show blood. Like I said in my last post, the discussion diverged from one of the MPAA's bias towards VIOLENCE (unnatural part of society) and against NUDITY (natural part of society) to one of the validity of the labeling system...
