Sorry for jumping in so late, but I have to say that if spam is a problem, check your email provider. I used to have a vanity email address on my own domain name, with a mail server run on a friend's computer. But eventually the spam volume was too much, so I switched over to gmail exclusively. Now my Inbox gets less than 1 spam mail a week, even though dozens pile up in the Spam folder daily. And as for non-spam emails that get mistakenly flagged as spam, that happens maybe once or twice a year.

This week my girlfriend and I decided to switch our company communication from email to social networks so your post is incredibly well timed.

We have about 125k people on our list and were going to switch from email to Facebook and Twitter. We increasingly see that the lighter touch is more appreciated.
